At Gitterport, we take information gathering and user-profiling quite serious, and we’ve chosen to create this list - highlighting some of the factors that applies to our games and services.
Advertising: Some of our applications use advertisements (ADs) to generate profit for our company. Do note, Gitterport is not creating profiles based on our users, nor do we sell or generate this type of information forward to partners. Information regarding you as a player, your app-site/store-front data may however still be tansfered directly to providers, such as: Apple and/or Google. They use these metrics to make more precise ads, and relevant marketing.
Information storage: Gitterport can in some cases access certain types of data (through third party vendors, such as app stores and advertisement generation) regarding what devices, operating systems and regions our titles have been played. This information will not be stored locally, or merged into datasheets that could identify singular users (to create any sort of profiling) by Gitterport. Information storage regarding save files etc (in games) are being stored locally on your device(s) and/or in a suitable cloud service provided by the selected vendor (store-front).
User data: Gitterport do not collect, nor maintain or harvest user data directly through our games. Do note: this can in some cases be given within rough estimates through service providers, such as app stores for example. We will never be asking for sensitive and/or personal information that can ble put together for profiling internally, or sold to third parties.
In-App Purchases: Applications listed on app stores can include in-game shops and/or purchases. These purchases can be repeated, and will be carried through the selected app-store’s system for transactions. We do suggest that all players - and those that can be defined as guardians of younger players - gain a understanding of how purchases work, and try to limit this, if there isn’t any room in your budget to carry out these types of purchases.
Talk to your kids, parents or grandparents about the meaning of these things - money transactions within games can be a good and healthy thing, if done right. At the same time, if not done right, this can create some bad experiences. Have a conversation regarding in-app purchases.
We understand that we have gamers ranging from new to very seasoned, that plays our titles. As this skill-gap is rather wide, so is it’s potential age gap. To ensure that you, your kids and your grandparents remain as safe and “untouched” digitally as possible - we do not generate any profiles, nor utilize any unique database-system for our applications, that would have required accounts and/or adding payment profiles into our systems. Any login and/or payment information entered within our applications, directly lines up to the designated vendor (app-store, store-front) and their payment system(s)
